Considerate Constructors Scheme
Connect Plus Services has registered all its depots under the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), the national initiative set up by the construction industry to improve its image.
We are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. The main areas of concern fall into three categories: the general public; the workforce and; the environment.
Blunts Farm was the 1,000th registration under the Considerate Constructors Scheme for Highways England projects. To mark this milestone, we hosted a presentation event at our Blunts Farm depot in January 2016, where an award recognising this milestone was presented to the Highways England (then Highways Agency).
The event was attended by Edward Hardy, Considerate Constructors Scheme Chief Executive who presented the award to Graham Dalton, Highways Agency Chief Executive.
CPS Services Managing Director Brian Johns was also present along with the Operations and Maintenance Manager (North East) and four representatives from the depot.
Brian Johns said “All our depots have been registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. It’s important that we demonstrate our commitment to minimising the impact our operations and work have on our neighbours and environment. The main categories within the scheme are all key themes for us over the next five years, with customer focus and safety being high priorities.”
