Britain’s Busiest Motorway starts tonight on ITV at 7.30pm.
The six-part documentary series takes viewers behind the scenes of the M25. It features the hidden army of traffic controllers, patrol officers, engineers and maintenance workers who work tirelessly around the clock to keep the M25 motorway moving.
Jack and Jamie are Incident Support Unit (ISU) operatives who work for Connect Plus Services, on behalf of Highways England. They feature in tonight’s episode, entitled Another Day at the Office.
We spoke to them about their jobs and the vital role they play in keeping the M25 moving.
Jack said: “As part of an ISU team, you’re often among the first response vehicles on scene at a road incident. Our role involves assessing the hazard and liaising with our control rooms to ensure that we have the resources available to get the road open as quickly, and as safely as possible.”
Jamie added: “When we’re not responding to incidents, we work to help keep the road safe and tidy – carrying out patrols, debris collection, graffiti removal, litter picking, sign maintenance and vegetation management.”
We are recruiting for Incident Support Unit Operatives for various locations across the M25 network.
